Value object creator

Value Object CreatorOne of the tedious tasks in creating a data intensive application is having to create value objects for all the business objects the application needs to work with. Typically these objects originate in a database somewhere and there is no easy way to automatically generate value objects that correspond to the database entities ... until now. The Value Object Creator allows you to easily convert database entities to AS3 classes. Run a simple SQL query (samples are provided in the application), go through 3 simple steps, and presto, you have nicely formatted AS3 value object classes. Download the application here. You will need the AIR runtime to run the application.

    hi there,

this is just what i've been looking for.

i'm having trouble getting it to install (vista64). i'm using lastest AIR runtime. the app installer starts (according to task manager) but then nothing happens. It never reaches the stage where the app installer screen pops up.

i hope you could email me some advice on how to get this running.

could save me soooo much time on the project i'm working on at the moment.

    thanks so much
    glenn.

Glenn, I don't have any experience with AIR on VISTA. Have you been able to install other AIR apps and have them run?

  3. Glenn Williams

yes mate, this is the first time i've come up with this happening. such a shame, as this really is just what i need at the moment. I've been thinking about writing something similar. Wouldn't it be nice if we always had the time to do all the R&D and write all this little apps we all know would be so helpfull.

i'll give it another go and take a look at the vista event log, see what i can find for you mate.

    cheers

    hi again.

right then. I've just sorted it out. I've do an uninstall of the AIR runtime, reinstalled it. now your app is installed and running fine.

Strange though as before doing this I made sure i was able to install other AIR apps. they worked without any trouble. not sure really.

    anyway, all is well now.

thanks again mate, stay in touch.

    cheers

Yeah, I wondered if it had something to do with the latest release of the AIR runtime. I had some flaky stuff happen with my new apps when running the old runtime. Glad it worked, enjoy.
