Goodbye Innovasium

As they say 'all good things must come to end' and so it is with my time at Innovasium. I have decided to dive back into the world of freelance contracting. It has been a great three and a half years, it is really hard to believe that much time has gone by. Lots of thanks to Dan and Rob, two guys who gave me a lot of freedom in developing solutions and pushing the limits of what I knew and what could be done. It is always a good thing to have someone who can push you to try new ideas, find ways of doing things that have not been done, and that is exactly what they did. Three and half years with very few days where I came to work not excited about solving a new problem and tackling a new challenge. Thanks guys, for the opportunity, for the challenge, and for letting me prove myself.

Looking back on my time, I still can not believe the amount of work that was accomplished. A Flash based platform for building Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), a Content Management System (CMS) that is a 100% Flash based and can manage Flash and hybrid sites, a desktop Flash application to sync data with a server, an ecommerce platform, multiple custom applications, the list goes on and on. None of it was possible without a great team. Thanks to all my teammates at Innovasium, past and present.

I am excited about the future and what it holds for my new endeavors, hopefully bright and promising, and I am sure the same is true for Innovasium's future. Best of luck guys.

Good luck Derrick. I left Innovasium about a year ago, it was a tough choice cause like you said they gave us freedom, and we both excelled and better'd ourselves day in and day out. You taught me a lot, you somehow figured out how to get me excited about the backend and middle teir, I was only a front end guy until you showed up a week after me. I was employee number 1 at Innovasium and you were employee number 2 but now we have passed the baton, or better yet, the "Flash Bible" on to the new team. With Dan and Rob's guidance I'm sure the new team will keep pushing the envelope at Innovasium. Good luck with your freelancing, and if you ever need a hand, you know where I am!

    Scott
