Ok, I'm not really a zit on Captain Kirk's forehead, but I am definitely on his forehead. Last night the Star Trek Photobooth Mosaic launched, in advance of the upcoming Star Trek movie. People can visit photo booths around the US and have their photos taken, which are then used to render mosaics of the characters. As a Star Trek fan (not a hard core trekkie though) it was pretty sweet to get to work on this project, even sweeter that it uses the Flash photo mosaic application I developed.
The application consists of two components, an admin tool that is used to approve incoming images and render the mosaics and a viewer which allows you view, zoom, pan the mosaic and also view large versions of each mosaic tile. The entire app is written in actionscript 3 and can be used in either Flash or Flex projects.
