Okay bad take on the 80's classic "video killed the radio star" but why, in this age of instant information, where everyone can be connected anywhere, can I not watch videos from Youtube, Comeday Central and CBS? I only name those sites because they are ones I have recently tried, I'm sure there are other offenders out there.

Is it just because I live outside the United States, or atleast my IP address says I do? Is it because I'm Canadian? Is it because there is some national security involved? Is it because a bunch of overpaid lawyers with nothing better to do thought it would be fun to tantelize us with links to shows we would want to watch and then snatch them out from under our noses (likely yes)?
What is the point of having content available on a publicly accessible website and then saying only 5% of the world's population is allowed to see large portions of it? I understand from a legal standpoint why this would happen but come on, it's the internet, do you really think you can stop people from watching your content (thank goodness for proxies). Why frustrate people who want to see your content, who are willing to watch your miserable ads before getting to the good stuff? Seriously, am I missing something? Or are these content providers idiots?

At least I can take solace in the fact I can watch this:

You have to remember that tv stations pay a lot of money for the rights. For example I am in the uk and love lost however the us get it a little sooner so I tried to watch it on their website however its locked to me because I am in the uk. Sky had paid millions to show lost first in the uk and if they let us watch it before it came to the uk what would have been the point in sky paying all that money for the rights. I am not saying I agree with it I just understand why they do it. They have to make money and they never make any show for free
